Introduction
In 2025, the members of ABBA remain active both individually and collectively, with exciting projects that keep their legacy alive.
-
Benny Andersson has been especially busy. His band Benny Anderssons Orkester was nominated for a Swedish Grammis award, and he performed in Göteborg at the annual Evert Taube tribute concert, where he played several songs, including a piano encore of one of Taube’s classics. Benny also co-produced a new feature documentary, “Siw,” about Swedish schlager star Siw Malmkvist, scheduled for release in Autumn 2025. Additionally, he composed the soundtrack for the Swedish TV series “Sweden and War” and has continued various collaborations in music and media. Fans speculate that Benny’s film company, co-run with his son Ludvig, could one day produce a definitive ABBA documentary.
-
Björn Ulvaeus has been seen enjoying vacations, from the Maldives to London concerts, but he also continues his advocacy work in protecting creators’ rights against AI misuse through the “Make It Fair” foundation. He is scheduled to speak at the South by Southwest Festival in London this June. Björn also remains linked with Mamma Mia! projects and recently reunited with actress Inger Nilsson (Pippi Longstocking).
-
Regarding ABBA Voyage, Benny, Ludvig, and producer Svana Gisla confirmed they are working on expanding the show in London with new elements starting May 27, 2025, and hinted at possible expansion to Australia.
-
Fans also received a newly restored photo of ABBA in Benny’s studio, likely from 2021, alongside digital re-releases: “Lay All Your Love on Me” in Dolby Atmos, plus archive performances like “So Long” (1974) and “Honey, Honey”.
-
Looking ahead, Agnetha Fältskog will turn 75, while Frida Lyngstad and Björn will both celebrate their 80th birthdays. Frida was last seen publicly at the ABBA Voyage concert in London in September 2024.
In short, 2025 is a year of celebration and preservation for ABBA — honoring their past while pushing creative boundaries forward through music, documentaries, and evolving stage shows.
